Tommy Patterson is excited to start his 2nd year at Schindewolf after serving as Director of Bands at Wunderlich Intermediate School for the past 13 years. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from the University of Texas (Austin, TX) and has taught band for a total of 25 years. Mr. Patterson has also taught middle school and high school band in Austin ISD and Round Rock ISD.
Mr. Patterson directs the Schindewolf Symphonic Band as well as beginning band classes. He has served on many leadership committees and is currently the Schindewolf Electives Department Chair . Mr. Patterson was named “Teacher of the Year” in 2019.
Under his direction, his bands has been recognized for numerous awards and honors including consistent UIL success and “Best in Class” awards at band festivals. Mr. Patterson's Jazz Bands has been selected “Best in Class” at most every competition entered and recently named the “National Winner” by The Foundation for Music Education in 2018. Mr. Patterson's Full Orchestra groups have placed top 10 in the state twice since 2016, making state finals in 2017 with a 4th place finish.
Mr. Patterson prides himself on sharing his love of music with countless students through his career. His class is a place where ALL kids are welcome to learn how to be successful at music and in life.
Victoria Ramirez is excited to begin her first year teaching as the Assistant Band Director at Schindewolf. She attended the University of Houston and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. She grew up in Cypress, and attended Cy-Fair High School in CFISD. Ms. Ramirez loves to crochet, watch movies, and hang out with her two dogs and two cats! She is so excited to begin her teaching career, and to make music with the students at Schindewolf!
Mr. Hernandez comes to the Klein Collins cluster from Ayala High School in Chino Hills, California where he served as the Percussion Co-Director and Percussion Arranger from 2018-2022 and instructor at RCC Indoor Percussion from 2015 to present. Mr. Hernandez comes to the Klein Collins cluster from Ayala High School in Chino Hills, California where he served as the Percussion Co-Director and Percussion Arranger from 2018-2022 and instructor at RCC Indoor Percussion from 2015 to present. While living in Southern California, he had the great privilege to work at some of the most nationally recognized percussion programs in the country including Ayala High School, Vista Murrieta High School, Los Alamitos High School, and Woodbridge High School. His ensembles have consistently ranked at the top of some of the most competitive circuits around the country including Bands of America, Southern California Percussion Alliance and Winter Guard International.
At Klein Collins, Mr. Hernandez directs the entire percussion studio through their many different ensembles throughout the year.
Mr. Hernandez is no stranger to the area, having been born in Spring! He grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and is a graduate of Brownsville Lopez High School. Mr. Hernandez attended Texas A&M University Kingsville and studied Music Education.
With an extensive tenure in Drum Corps International and Winter Guard International, Mr. Hernandez has performed and instructed some of the very best ensembles in the country. He was a member of the Crossmen (05,06), Colts (07-09) and Blue Devils (10,11) Drum and Bugle Corps and RCC Indoor Percussion (11,12). After performing, he served many roles at the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps (13-19) including front ensemble manager, caption head, and arranger.
His professional affiliations include Vic Firth sticks and mallets, Zildjian Cymbals and Evans Drumheads.
