Band Fees

Band Fees 2023-2024

The Timberwolf Band will require a fee again this year. The Band Fees will cover our Required Expenses for the year so that we don’t have to constantly ask for payments throughout the year. This will also enable our teachers to have additional instruction time without having to collect payments. Klein ISD is requiring these fees to be paid through School Cash (https://kleinisd.schoolcashonline.com) or with cash or check through Mrs. Vicente, our school Financial Secretary.

The fee amounts are:

Symphonic Band - $60
Concert Band - $60
Beginning Band - $40

What does the Band Fee Cover?

Band T-Shirt Band Binder and Binder Required Items
Solo and Ensemble Contest Entry Fee
Food for competitions and Football Performance
Portions of our travel for non-UIL activities

What doesn’t the Band Fee cover?

Concert Black Shirt (Symphonic and Concert Bands Only)
Region Band Audition Fee
District Band Audition Fee
KISD Instrument Maintenance Fee for any school-owned instruments ($52)
KISD Piano Accompanist ($35) (Symphonic/Concert Band only)
Band hoodies and spirit items that are optional
Waterpark Trip or Kemah Boardwalk trip at the end of the year
Band Clinicians and Master Class Instructors
Parties or Outings
Concert Black accessories - Black Slacks, Dress Shoes, Black Dress Belt, Black Socks for Symphonic and Concert Band members.

Unfortunately, items that are required cannot be handed out until your fees have been paid. This fee is similar to what our families paid in previous years, but all in one lump sum at the beginning of the year. * If there are circumstances that prevent you from paying your fees, please contact Mr. Patterson - we never want cost to be a reason someone cannot participate in band! School Owned Instrument Maintenance Fee

School-Owned Instrument Fees

As you know, the Klein Independent School District does not charge a “rental fee” for school-owned instrument use. There is, however a $52 per year “instrument maintenance fee” attached to each instrument used by students. This fee goes towards the general routine maintenance of the instrument, but does not cover damage due to misuse or carelessness. The instruments must last 15-20 years, and with consistent student use, they must be taken care of and turned back into us at the end of the year in the same condition as it was checked out.

This fee applies to our school owned:

Oboes
Bassoons
Bass Clarinets
Tenor Saxophones
Baritone Saxophones
French Horns
Euphoniums
Tubas

If your student has an instrument at home and school, you will only pay one fee. If you switch instruments during the year, you will not pay another fee.

Please submit payment by Monday, Sept. 25th so that we may close out any paperwork required in a timely fashion. If your family has a financial consideration that makes paying on time a problem, please communicate that with Mr. Patterson as soon as possible so that we can work with you. (a letter or email is sufficient)

Please go to the Schindewolf website and use SchoolCash to pay for your instrument fee. You may also send cash or a check made out to SIS Band (please include your driver’s license number on checks) or cash to Mrs. Vicente, the Schindewolf Financial Secretary.
